Produced by SL The Don and co-produced by SASO-HELIO at Camp David Studios in Downtown Miami, the EP holds special significance in the artist’s journey. These sessions were not only about recording songs but also about discovering a deeper love for the craft of music production itself.
Each track carries a distinct mood while maintaining a cohesive sonic identity. Smooth sound design, soulful vocal textures, and rhythmic groove create a listening experience that balances reflective storytelling with late-night R&B energy.
Feel The Power: Festival Energy and EDM Ambition
While Follow Me embraces soulful introspection, the EP Feel The Power moves into the world of electronic dance music, designed for high-energy stages and festival environments.
At the center of the project is “Dancing All Night,” a vibrant dance record featuring Amara La Negra. Known as a Miami cultural figure, performer, and entrepreneur, her collaboration adds an extra layer of charisma and international flavor to the track.
The song came together through an organic studio moment. While SASO-HELIO was building the track piece by piece with SL The Don, respected Latin music producer Beatz Akedemy happened to hear the work in progress. Recognizing its potential, he suggested bringing Amara La Negra onto the record—a move that ultimately shaped the song into what SASO-HELIO describes as one of his most exciting creations to date.
Blending afro rhythms, disco-inspired grooves, and EDM production, the track also marks a personal milestone: SASO-HELIO’s first time writing lyrics in Spanish.
The project itself reflects a larger goal—to prepare for festival stages and large live audiences, where electronic music thrives on connection and high-energy performance.
A Creative Process Guided by Faith
For SASO-HELIO, songwriting and production are deeply tied to spirituality. Rather than relying solely on technical writing methods, he approaches music through a mindset of faith and intuition.
His routine often begins in the early hours of the morning—around 3 or 4 a.m.—starting with prayer and physical training. These rituals create the mental clarity needed for creativity to flow naturally.
Moments of reflection also play an important role. Watching hawks circle overhead from his balcony or spending time listening to the ocean allows SASO-HELIO to reset his mind and connect with ideas organically.
Instead of forcing lyrics or melodies, he allows inspiration to emerge naturally.
The philosophy is simple: trust the process and trust God to guide the music.
Musical Roots Inspired by Family
Although SASO-HELIO’s sound moves between multiple genres, the earliest influence in his musical life came from someone close to home—his grandmother.
A classical pianist and organist, she played a significant role in shaping his appreciation for music. Growing up in Port Smith, Arkansas, she overcame racial barriers during a difficult period in American history. Her talent was so respected that she was chauffeured around town to teach piano to white students despite the racial climate of the time.
Her strength, discipline, and musical excellence left a lasting impression, helping shape SASO-HELIO’s approach to both artistry and perseverance.
Finding Strength in Authenticity
Like many artists navigating the modern music industry, one of SASO-HELIO’s greatest challenges has been learning to fully stand in his own truth.
This meant developing the confidence to take control of his creative direction and communicate clearly with collaborators and team members about his vision.
It also meant recognizing when certain environments or partnerships were no longer aligned with his goals. Walking away from situations that didn’t support his authenticity became an important part of protecting the integrity of his work.
